Best ASIC Miners in 2026: Compared by Efficiency

Best ASIC Miners in 2026: Compared by Efficiency

Short answer: the best ASIC miner is the most efficient machine you can power and cool. For Bitcoin in 2026, hydro-cooled Antminer S23 units lead on efficiency at about 9.5 J/TH; the air-cooled Antminer S21 XP (13.5 J/TH) is the most efficient option that runs without liquid cooling; and compact units like the Avalon Nano 3s suit a home. For Litecoin and Dogecoin, look at the Antminer L11 and L9; for Kaspa, the Antminer KS7.

We compared models by efficiency (joules per unit of hashrate: lower is better), then by the infrastructure each needs. All figures below come from the manufacturer specifications on our product pages. Prices are Bitminers prices at the time of writing (September 30, 2026) and can change; check each product page for the current price. We do not rank by projected earnings, because mining revenue changes daily.

Quick comparison: Bitcoin (SHA-256) miners

Miner Hashrate Power Efficiency Cooling Price
Antminer S23 Hyd 580 TH/s 5,510 W 9.5 J/TH Hydro $13,324.50
Antminer S21 XP Hyd 473 TH/s 5,676 W 12.0 J/TH Hydro $6,669.00
Antminer S21e XP Hyd 430 TH/s 5,590 W 13.0 J/TH Hydro $5,499.00
Whatsminer M73S+ 540 TH/s 7,200 W 13.3 J/TH Hydro $10,199.00
SealMiner A3 500 TH/s 6,750 W 13.5 J/TH see product page $6,749.00
Antminer S21 XP 270 TH/s 3,645 W 13.5 J/TH Air $3,799.00
Whatsminer M60S++ 234 TH/s 3,422 W 14.6 J/TH Air $2,683.42
Antminer S21 Pro 234 TH/s 3,510 W 15.0 J/TH Air $2,379.00

Best overall efficiency: Antminer S23 Hydro

The Antminer S23 series is Bitmain’s newest SHA-256 generation. At about 9.5 J/TH, the S23 Hyd (580 TH/s) uses roughly 30% less energy per terahash than a 13.5 J/TH machine. It needs a hydro cooling loop and high-capacity power, so it suits facilities rather than homes. Larger 2U and 3U hydro versions run at 865 TH/s to 1.16 PH/s.

Best hydro value: Antminer S21 XP Hyd and S21e XP Hyd

If you already run hydro infrastructure, the S21 XP Hyd (12.0 J/TH) and S21e XP Hyd (13.0 J/TH) cost considerably less than the S23 per unit while staying well inside the efficient end of the field.

Best air-cooled Bitcoin miner: Antminer S21 XP

The Antminer S21 XP delivers 270 TH/s at 13.5 J/TH with ordinary fans, so it installs like any air-cooled miner: a 200–240 V circuit, Ethernet and plenty of airflow. It is loud, so plan for a garage, shed or dedicated space. Lower-cost air-cooled options include the Antminer S21 Pro (15.0 J/TH) and the Whatsminer M60S++ (14.6 J/TH). See all Antminer S21 models.

Best for home: Avalon Nano 3s, Avalon Q and Bitaxe

Miner Hashrate Power Good for Price
Avalon Nano 3s 6 TH/s 140 W Quiet desk or room miner, doubles as a small heater $216.11
Avalon Q 90 TH/s 1,674 W Most hashrate you can run in a home setting $1,291.64
Bitaxe Gamma 601 1.2 TH/s about 15–20 W Learning, open-source hardware, solo “lottery” mining $77.17

Home miners are far less efficient than full-size machines, but they run on a normal outlet and are quiet enough for living spaces. Read Bitaxe Explained for what solo mining at home really involves, or browse home and solo miners.

Best Litecoin and Dogecoin (Scrypt) miners

Miner Hashrate Power Efficiency Price
Antminer L11 Hyd 2U 35 GH/s 5,775 W 0.165 J/MH $16,624.31
Antminer L11 21 GH/s 3,612 W 0.172 J/MH $7,999.00
Antminer L9 17 GH/s 3,570 W 0.21 J/MH $3,659.00

Scrypt miners mine Litecoin and Dogecoin together through merged-mining pools. The Antminer L9 is the lowest-cost entry point among these; the L11 is more efficient. See all Litecoin & Dogecoin miners.

Best Kaspa miners

Miner Hashrate Power Efficiency Price
Antminer KS7 45 TH/s 3,465 W 77 J/TH $1,730.00
IceRiver KS7 Lite 4.2 TH/s 500 W 119 J/TH $699.00

Kaspa efficiency is quoted in J/TH too, but the numbers are not comparable with Bitcoin’s because the algorithms differ. See all Kaspa miners.

How to choose

  1. Pick the coin, which decides the algorithm and the machines that can mine it.
  2. Check your power: most full-size air-cooled miners need a dedicated 200–240 V circuit; hydro units often need more.
  3. Check cooling and noise: air-cooled machines are loud; hydro and immersion need extra equipment.
  4. Compare efficiency within the same algorithm, then price per unit of hashrate.
  5. Run your numbers in our profitability calculator with your own electricity price and today’s hashprice.

Frequently asked questions

What is the most efficient Bitcoin miner?

Among the machines we stock, the hydro-cooled Antminer S23 models are the most efficient, at about 9.5–10 J/TH.

What is the best ASIC miner for beginners?

If you have a garage or other space with a 240 V circuit, an air-cooled machine such as the Antminer S21 XP or S21 Pro is the simplest full-size setup. If you want to mine quietly at home, start with an Avalon Nano 3s or a Bitaxe.

Which miner is the most profitable?

We don’t rank miners by profit because it changes daily. Efficiency and your electricity price are the two numbers you control. Bitminers does not guarantee mining profitability.

Are these miners new?

Yes. Everything Bitminers sells is new, ships within the United States for a flat $120 per order, and comes with a 30-day limited warranty and 20-day returns.
