Product Description
The Canaan Avalon Nano 3S is a compact SHA-256 ASIC miner for Bitcoin (BTC) that also works as a small space heater. It is rated at 6 TH/s at 140 W, an efficiency of 23.33 J/TH. Canaan launched it at CES in January 2025 as the upgraded version of the 4 TH/s Avalon Nano 3. It runs from an external power adapter and is set up through Canaan’s Avalon Family app, where you scan a QR code and enter your pool details.
Who it suits
- First-time miners who want a desk-size Bitcoin ASIC that runs from an ordinary outlet
- People trying solo mining who understand that the chance of finding a block at 6 TH/s is small
- Home users who can use a little extra warmth in an office or bedroom in colder months
- Owners of a Nano 3 who want more hashrate in the same footprint
Power and setup
At 140 W, the Nano 3S sits well within what a standard 120 V household outlet can supply, so it does not need a dedicated circuit or special wiring. It connects over Ethernet or Wi-Fi, as listed in the specifications. Cooling is by fan, and the specification table lists a noise level of 40 dB, which suits a home office. The unit is designed to release its heat into the room, so keep the air outlet clear and away from curtains, bedding and paper.

Frequently asked questions
How much power does the Avalon Nano 3S use?
This 6 TH/s version is rated at 140 W. It runs from an external 28 V DC adapter, so on the AC side it is a light load for an ordinary household outlet.
Does the Avalon Nano 3S need special wiring?
No. The power adapter plugs into a standard wall outlet. Use a supply that meets the 28 V DC adapter rating, and give the fan open air rather than an enclosed shelf.
How loud is the Avalon Nano 3S?
It is listed at 40 dB. Fan speed, and so noise, rises with room temperature.
What coins can the Avalon Nano 3S mine?
It mines SHA-256, so it can mine Bitcoin (BTC) and other SHA-256 coins such as Bitcoin Cash (BCH). It works with any SHA-256 pool; see mining pools explained.
Can the Avalon Nano 3S find a Bitcoin block?
It can, but at 6 TH/s the chance in any given year is small, and Bitminers does not promise any mining result. Work out the odds for your hashrate with our solo mining calculator.
Does the Avalon Nano 3S come with a warranty?
Yes. This listing is for a new unit with a 30-day limited warranty from Bitminers, starting on the date of delivery. A manufacturer warranty may also apply. See our Warranty Policy.
